Our Van Life Philosophy.

Why be a nomad?

We chose to self convert our van, Sunee because living a life of simplicity, spirituality, and intentionality is what has brought us freedom and happiness. We were exhausted and unfulfilled in our old life, but this life of adventure together has been everything we wanted and more! Being a content creator is cool, but we are funded from ADVENTURE seasonal jobs, photography, and small business bookkeeping. Ask us questions to find out more info!

“The first step of crafting the life you want is to get rid of everything you don't.”

Simplicity

Keep it simple.

A phrase that has changed my life for the better. I would consider myself a recovering "OCD hoarder". I used to drown myself with clutter...both physically and mentally. I realized that it was impossible to get rid of anything because it felt like I was giving away a part of myself.

Keeping it simple has given me whole new life. Once I was devoted myself to a life of simplicity, I felt so much freedom. I gave away 12 trash bags of clothes & many boxes on boxes of belongings. Relationships that once had tension, I was able to amend with an apology (instead of these drawn-out conversations I thought I needed to have).

I learned how to grieve things, relationship expectations, past experiences, and future ones. One way that helped me grieve things, was I had Codee take photos of me holding sentimental items. It allowed me to let go of the physical item with ease in knowing that I could remember the object if I wanted.

I have taken a step back in many relationships, in order to make room for ones that matter. I went through my social accounts and unfollowed ones that no longer served value to me.

& now that we live in a van I carry almost all my belongings with me (minus a small closet at the in-law's house). THAT'S HUGE!

Cheers to a life of simplicity! Let me know if you have any tips for living this type of lifestyle.

Simplicity by getting rid of belongings. Take photos of sentimental items that you need to let go of.

“You can have control or you can have growth, but you can't have both.”

Spirituality

Let go & let god, as we understood Him.

Spirituality gives us permission to replace stress, worry, and suffering with true serenity + faith. In my experience, I found that I was always trying to solve a spiritual problem with a worldly solution. & there's no solution to freedom & happiness other than a spiritual one. Letting go and letting a Higher Power guide me has given me a divine sense of freedom and happiness.

Intentionality

First things first.

Before February of 2021, I lived a very mundane life. I woke up, went to work, had scheduled events through the week, slept, ate... life was on repeat. They say if you continue to do the same things and expect different results you're living in insanity. The only way to break free from a life of insanity is to live a life of intent.

I had to ask myself, “What’s most important to me?” and "What makes my life worth living?” And once I was able to answer those questions, I made decisions that lead me to those goals.

Today, I wake up with the intent to better myself & I do my best to keep growing into the person I want to be like most.
